Mrs. John A. McLaughlin have been 
notified by the War department that 
their son. Flight Officer John A, 
ilin* jr, t 20, member of a 
tor bomber crew, based in 
Italy, has been missing in action 
since June 13* 

He was a member of the 15th Air 
force and failed to return from a 
mission over Germany, 

He had been overseas only four 
weeks.

Anthony Stanley Sankowski. 
Navy coxswain, has been killed in 
action in France according to a 
telegram received by his parents, 
Mr, and Mrs. Stanley Sankowski 
of West Rutland, from the Navy 
department. 



The telegram stated in part that 
the 19-year-old sailor met his death 
on August 15, 1944, as a result of 
wounds from fragments of shrapnel 
in the chest and throat while in 
the performance of his duty and 1
